The aim of the media bus is to strengthen the media use and media skills of people with cognitive impairments, and to promote their social participation and self-determination by connecting them to digital media.<\/h5>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_3,1_3,1_3″ _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n

The idea of a mobile media skills center in the form of a media bus was born out of an innovative and inclusive co-creation process, and has met with a very positive response from different stakeholder groups – people with cognitive impairment (PCI), professionals, managers of institutions, and so on. To date, there are no mobile offers in this topic area in Switzerland. At the same time, institutions for PCI are required to support and accompany their clients in strengthening and promoting their media skills.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n

Often, institutions and reference persons are overwhelmed by this task and the associated costs. PCI are denied access to media offers for fear of negative effects, due to their own limited knowledge, or because of limited personal resources. This is where the media bus can provide support and help institutions in this task, in order to counter the risks of exclusion that are growing stronger at a time of ongoing digital transformation. Thanks to the mobile approach, it’s not just one institution that can benefit from the offer,<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n

but a whole region or, depending on the extension of the offer, the whole of Switzerland. The offer also has the effect of making the topic of PCI digital connectivity visible and positioning it as a socio-political issue. In addition, the mobile offer promotes exchange between institutions, as it can make sense to plan the use of the media bus together.
