The aim of the project is to design and test a digital learning system for people with disabilities.<\/h5>\n

Education and training play an important role for people with disabilities. Appropriate support helps to improve their educational opportunities and their possibilities to participate in society. At present, few digital aids are used in education, either in protected workshops or in special schools. Most of the time, personal instructions or work with paper-based teaching aids are used. These teaching aids are difficult to adapt to the needs of the persons concerned and are not very attractive. Digital devices also play a central role in the daily lives of people with disabilities, so the use of digital media in education has great potential.<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]\n

The aim of the project is to design and test a digital learning system for people with disabilities. For this purpose, a suitable working process was identified and analysed with the Heimst\u00e4tten Wil. Videos were created to convey the work process. In addition, tasks from the mathematics courses were implemented with a curative education school. The system was implemented with the 3D engine Unity. In addition, a stand was designed to mount a projector on a workstation in order to project the teaching material onto the work table.<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.0″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]\n

The system is currently being evaluated at Heimst\u00e4tten Will. The results will be evaluated at the end of the project. Once the project is finished, another evaluation is planned in a curative education school.
The first results of the evaluation show that the people involved have welcomed the system and that the system can be used in a practical way. The material costs are low, as it is also possible to use existing projectors.
