We advise and support around 9600 families throughout Switzerland with a member with a cerebral palsy. They all receive expert advice as well as competent and fast help in everyday life, according to their needs.<\/p>\r\n
The aim of all our services is the early detection, promotion, education, care and social support of people with cerebral palsy, spina bifida or muscular dystrophy who live in Switzerland.<\/p>\r\n
We support affected people in many areas of life. Support services include direct advice over the telephone or in writing, offers to promote mobility, relief in everyday life, financial support for home adaptations to meet the needs of people with disabilities, and the distribution of care and hygiene articles.<\/p>\r\n
We are committed to providing specific further training for specialised professionals and to creating jobs in homes and institutions. In addition, we carry out important education and information work in order to reduce prejudice and fear of contact and to raise awareness on the needs of people with disabilities and their families. An important offer, which is also actively used by families, is our counselling service. Here, those concerned receive free expert advice in the areas of care and support, schooling, therapy, aids, maintaining and promoting independence and mobility.<\/p>\r\n
Research and development of new therapies and support for people with disabilities has always been one of our main areas of work. We are therefore committed to this in many areas and often play a pioneering role. In collaboration with the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (GDI), for example, we have prepared a study on the subject of robotics and disability in order to identify at an early stage future developments and the needs of the people concerned and to find today important solutions for tomorrow.<\/p>\r\n
