Williams, one of our team members, uses a wheelchair to get around, but drinking, eating and smoking are only possible with the help of the nursing staff around him. We are developing a technical solution to help him regain his independence: a motorised armrest with integrated planar and vertical movement. We want to propose a prototype that can be easily integrated in a non-stigmatising way into the patient's different living environments: wheelchair, chair, bed, etc. Our objective for the control of the motorised armrest is to detect the user's intention of movement using force sensors, allowing an adjustable degree of assistance to be provided, adapting to the patient's capacities, particularly over time (rehabilitation, degenerative diseases, etc.).</description></oembed>
