Improving the autonomy of people with disabilities and reduced mobility through autonomous vehicles

This project’s objective is to involve people suffering from social exclusion due to their disabilities in the co-development of easily accessible autonomous transportation solutions. Although this is a user-centric project, all the stakeholders will be invited to participate in designing an autonomous vehicle-user experience adapted to people with disabilities. This particular case of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) helps all the participants to better understand the issue’s complexity and provides a disabled user’s insight and perceptions of the usefulness, ease of use and safety of autonomous vehicles in an urban setting.

This project was one of the 50 winners of DESIGNSCAPES’ first-round open call, and it will receive a grant for the delivery of a feasibility study on Design-enabled Innovations in Urban Environments.
